BASIC OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The following section provides basic operating instructions for the Aries8.

Power ON/OFF

  • Power ON: Press and hold the power button on the right side of the terminal for 3-5 seconds.
  • Power OFF: Press and hold the power button on the right side of the terminal for 3-5 seconds.

CARD READERS

The Aries8 Smart Tablet includes the following card readers:

EMV Card Reader

Insert card with IC chip facing up, then push it to the end of the card slot with blue light flashing and icon displaying on screen. Leave card inserted until prompted to remove.

Magnetic Stripe Card

Insert magnetic stripe card into card slot and push to the end with magnetic stripe facing down, then pull out card at a constant speed to swipe card.

Contactless Card Reader

Hold contactless card over or under keypad to trigger payment.


SIM/SAM CARD INSTALLATION

The Aries8 includes slots for both SIM and SAM cards.

SIM/SD Card

  1. Use the SIM Card Ejector tool to open the tray.
  2. Place the SIM or SD card into the tray and then gently slide it back in place.

SAM Card

  1. Open cover and insert card with chip facing up.
  2. Replace cover.

PRIVACY SHIELD INSTALLATION

The Aries8 includes two optional privacy shields: a high privacy shield and a low privacy shield.

  1. Align four pegs on privacy shield with the four holes around the tablet keypad.
  2. Press to secure privacy shield to keypad.

Please Note: Once installed, the high privacy shield cannot be removed without damaging the privacy shield or the tablet, while the low privacy shield can be removed without damage.


CLEANING THE DEVICE

  • Do not use industrial strength or abrasive cleaner as it may damage or scratch the screen.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or liquid.
  • Do not spray water or cleaner into EMV Card Reader or ports.
  • To clean the screen, apply distilled water or mild glass cleaner onto a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe terminal.

TERMINAL INSTALLATION AND USAGE TIPS

  • If any cables become damaged, seek a replacement.
  • Before inserting card, please check the inside and periphery of the IC card slot.
  • If there is any suspicious object, please report to the related administrator.
  • Do not insert unknown materials into any port on the Aries8; this may cause serious damage.
  • If repairs are required, please contact a professional technician instead of attempting them on your own.
  • Avoid exposing the device to an excessively hot, dusty, or strong electromagnetic environment.
  • Do not vibrate, shake, or drop the device.
