Run a Card Transaction in the Virtual Terminal

Welcome to this tutorial on Running a Card Transaction in the Virtual Terminal.
Note: Transactions processed using the virtual terminal will not be linked to a contact record. If you want to run a one-time transaction linked to a contact, please see the article Run a One-Time Transaction for a Contact.

1. Start by clicking Virtual Terminal.

2. Expand the Location drop-down.

3. Select the correct Location for the transaction.

4. Click Credit Card.

5. Note: For this tutorial, we will create a Sale transaction.

6. Enter the Transaction Amount.

7. Enter the Card Number.

8. Select the card's Expiration Month.

Step 10 image

9. Select the card's Expiration Year.

10. Enter the Cardholder Name as it appears on the card.

11. Optional: Enter a Description for the transaction.

12. It is highly recommended to enter the card's Billing Information.
Note: If you use the Account Verification Service (AVS), the address is required.

13. Click the Save as Account Vault checkbox if you want to save the payment information for future use.

14. Enter an Account Vault Title.

15. Click Process Transaction $.

Step 17 image

16. If the transaction is successful, the Transaction Detail screen will pop up. You will have the options to Void the Transaction and Print or Email the Receipt.
